[MUST READ] MY OWN KOBO ON THE STATE OF NIGERIA πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ PRT 1

WHERE IS THE NEW NIGERIA WE CLAMOR FOR PRT1  – BY COMRADE CHUKS

LONG before my birth and growth, Nigeria was referred as giant of Africa because of its population size believed to be above 200 million. Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa. It is also the most populous black country in the world today, and it also relax at seventh position on the rankings of the most populous countries in the world.

A large population supposed to be a reservoir of labour, military strength, force, advantage as well as an actual and potential large market but the sad trajectory history and leadership led us to enthroned total darkness.

During the good old days, history had it that Nigeria had the best educational institutions as well as the best graduates, numerous scholars and entrepreneurs. But with less funding, lack of prioritization of Education at the Federal level, upsurge in malpractice as well as constant strike actions by education-related bodies and other non institutes, the Nigerian educational system has become a shadow of its former self and a colossal mess.
Consequently, the standard of tertiary education in the country has dropped in relation to other top African universities.

Sports on its own happened to be a sector that lots of Nigerians take pride in due to several of achievements the country has witnessed in sports over the years especially in football. A country that produced and House world stars like Kanu Nwankwo, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, Chioma Ajunwa, Blessing Okagbare, Samuel Peters and many others. But even the performance of Nigerians in sports in recent times has dwindled. This could be attributed to poor management of its governmental ministries, the lackadaisical attitude of those in government positions.
Arts, Culture and Entertainment, Nigeria is claimed to be unequalled when it comes to achievements. A country that produced the likes of Wole Soyinka the first African Nobel Laureate in Literature. Chinua Achebe, whose Things Fall Apart has been described as Africa’s most popular and best selling literary piece. Other literary giants  like JP Clark, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Femi Osofisan just to mention few.

Our once local movie industry, Nollywood that has now gone International and the second largest producer of movies in the world. Our high and strides cannot be relinquished. A country that produced world renowned artistes such as Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Femi Kuti, King Sunny Ade, and the emerging Onyeka Nwelue Wizkid and Davido including others breaking international boundaries.

Corruption has spread around the country like a wild fire that Nigeria now ascends the list of most corrupt countries in the world. This alone has consequently damaged the Nation’s image at the wider world such that there have been claims of Nigeria as a country motioned and seconded by corruption and fraudulent activities.

The political imbroglio had since been a blood shed sacrifice where the deadliest leads the innocent. Gerontocracy had since been enthroned where the youths are rather considered the diminishing end.

Economy and Power - There have been serious agitation for a diversification of the economy and as well industrialization of the country to breed strong economy, but sadly, has not occurred. The insufficient power supply has crippled the efforts of major private sector towards industrialization in the country. That several companies/businesses like Dunlop, Michelin Coca-Cola and many more have shut down their plants in Nigeria and relocated to a more conducive economic environment in other African countries.  South Africa have been certified by the World Bank as a newly industrialized country. Ahead of One time giant of Africa Nigeria πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬
The country also has multinational corporations spread all over the world, and the most popular among Nigerians include MTN, MultiChoice, Shoprite and so On. I can go on and on to list the numerous sad trajectory that leadership and sacrifice on the evil altar led us into.

NOW AS 2019 APPROACHES ITS STILL POSSIBLE TO ENTHRONE A NEW NIGERIA NOT JUST OF THE GOOD OLD DAYS BUT OF THE GREENER DREAM

Having witnessed and seen the No good effect of Gerontocracy in our political landscape, it is pertinent that the youths takes full control of their generation and end the process of creating unwarranted tension and chaos in the country.

Today, the youths controls majorly the country’s population, the approach towards 2019 general election should be considered “Do or Mare” between the old and the young. If we successively take up power it will be No doubt the end of the popular sacrifice on the altar of Godfathers.

President Buhari who under his reign as a democratic elected president of Nigeria ran a country that produced and House scholars, prominence and World recognized greats into a mess has again declare to Run for the country’s highest rank at 76 of age having been a total disaster and serial failure in uniting Nigeria ‘s diversity during his first term in office.

Unwarranted killings, adoption, leadership crisis, gross misconduct and corruption trailed his first four years in office had again flexed muscles that with or without Nigerians, he would ascend the throne of leadership again.

It was a welcome challenge and commendable test of prowess but do we have a working philosophy and formation oriented agenda to oust the lackadaisical President Buhari come 2019?

The good news there remains the fact that many who led him to power had long gone and instead lunched a direct attack on his mission and ambition to cripple Nigeria totally but the division amongst us shapes his victory in styles. Ranging from religious, political, tribal and a division of the said Nigeria into different countries (Which is dead on arrival)

The likes of
Prof. Chris Mustapha Nwakobia who alongside his friend and ally Ambassador “EZE” Harris Chuma championed the “Change Mantra” is today vying for the office of the president.

Indefatigable Omoloye Sowere the bone behind President Buhari media excellence and Rebranding from a dictator to a Saint is vying for same position (President)

Fela Durotoye and Kinsley Moughalu are both distinguished to occupy the said position. They are vying too

My very good friend and ally Ambassador Lewis Chikeluba the Imo sate born Lagosian who spent his hard earned resource to mobilize for President Buhari is also vying to lead Nigeria

The likes of Ngozi Okonjie Iweala, Chiamanda Adα»‹chie and Dr. Peter Obi have all indicated interest for the VP slot

While the highly reverend Donald Duke recently joined the race to contest for the country’s highest rank office.

I wouldn’t wish to mention Sen. Kwakwanso, Gov. Tambuwal, Atiku Abubarkar and the host of same old politicians that contributed immensely to the sad end we are today.

The revolution to wrestle power from President Buhari and the APC led Federal Government won’t be so easy due to the roles structure and platform (s) plays in our democracy today. He believes he has the power to influence and command our failed and manipulated electoral institution and other related facets.

Only a united formidable team with numerous prowess in all sector can end the dream and wish of this septuagenarian to RULE over Nigeria again.

The media has in recent years now ascend to be a political institute of its own. The media commands 40% of political influence and decision while structures and platforms takes maximum control of the other 60%

It is of great importance that these youthful aspirants who had demonstrated zeal and passion for Nigeria that will breed newness in all sectors comes together under one platform to fight this course for unimaginable victory against the powers of old and darkness.

Permit me to quote Tonie Osegbo Facebook post on Obasanjo ADC
Why division of opposition votes?

I am not so happy with Obasanjo, Oyinlola and ors floating of another political party for 2019 election.

I was thinking the '3rd force' will merge with some political parties then present a 'credible' candidate that can challenge the APC and PDP. I was also thinking that since the promoters of the party claim to return Nigeria to a better state will merge with all and even with PDP to present a better candidate that can win President Buhari.

Why the division of opposition votes in Nigeria. APC as a party has party faithfuls and loyalists that will always vote for the party no matter what. There are also people that will vote President Buhari because of love they have for him. With declaration of ADC as the third force and the influence the people that are spearheading it have, it will bring division of votes of oppositions and favour APC.

Lets take SW for instance, where we have major parties of APC, PDP, SDP and now ADC. The opposition votes will divide in SW leaving APC with bloc votes of SW. APC will also have a bloc vote in NW and NE. Then NC, PDP, SDP and ADC will share the percentage of opposition votes. The total votes of opposition  parties in SS and SE cannot challenge that of NW, SW and NE. So I see a more clear chances of President Buhari winning the Presidential election in 2019.

With this, APC as a political party is sure of winning SW, NW, NE and if they get little votes from other remaining 3 geopolitical zones they will win the Presidential election.

Everyone can complain of how bad Nigeria is, but when it comes to party election, party faithfuls always vote for the party. I was disappointed with the declaration of ADC as the 3rd force. There is need for 'harmonization' of opposition parties else, Buhari will emerge as President come 2019 Tonie Osegbo concludes …

This draws me to the bottom line where I think it’s necessary we first secure our country before competing with each other. If only the young aspirants can come together to form one platform and present the best candidate out of all irrespective of tribe, religion or otherwise on the side of the opposition, No doubt all anti Buhari and APC will vote for their conscience not the highest bidder which is AGAINST PA BUHARI AND THE APC

Until we come together as one to fight our woes then normalcy will return and the good old days will live with us again.

TO BE CONTINUED ™
